Who We Are

Whimsical AI Review (whimsicalaireview.org) is an independent review website that publishes hands-on evaluations of AI-powered diagramming and visual collaboration tools. We are not affiliated with Whimsical, Miro, Lucidchart, FigJam, Mural, or any other product we review.

What Data We Collect

We collect minimal information about visitors. Specifically:

  • Server logs: Standard web request logs (IP address, user agent, page URL, timestamp). Retained for 30 days for security and analytics.
  • Analytics: Anonymised usage data via privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use third-party trackers that build cross-site profiles.
  • Affiliate click tracking: When you click an affiliate link (URLs starting with /go/), we record the click for commission attribution. No personal data is shared with affiliate partners beyond what is required by their tracking systems.

We do not collect names, email addresses, or contact information unless you voluntarily submit them through a form (we currently do not operate any forms).

Cookies

This site uses minimal cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Affiliate partners may set their own cookies when you click an outbound link; please refer to their privacy policies for details.

How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

  • Operate and improve the website
  • Measure aggregate traffic patterns and content performance
  • Attribute affiliate commissions to specific outbound clicks
  • Detect and mitigate abuse (e.g., bot traffic, scraping)

We do not sell, rent, or share visitor data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we collect minimal personal data, most of these rights apply only to data you have voluntarily submitted (which currently is none through this site). To make a request, contact us.

EU/EEA visitors (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to processing.

California visitors (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete that information, and the right to opt out of any sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information).

Children's Privacy

This website is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
